“No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true."
Steve Jobs 1955-2011
This quote is from the commencement speech Steve Jobs gave at Stanford in 2005.
It is called How to Live Before You Die.

There is a dent on the circle of the moon surface in the picture.
ReplyDeleteGreat moon for a man with a vision. x
ReplyDeleteI just saw that entire speech today. Never had anything to do with Apple, so I can only judge Mr Jobs on what he said there.
ReplyDeleteI think he was a very insightful man.
Love the photograph!

How true his words! It reminds of the poem called "The Dash". We all have a birth date & a death date. When written these dates are seperated by a dash. The dates themselves have little meaning... it is the dash, which represents LIFE, that is of great importance. How we live our dash, is what counts!!!
ReplyDeleteWith a Mac in the house for twenty years, yes he has affected my life and that speech was great and gave me many thoughts. Thanks for sharing it!
