“Dachshunds are ideal dogs for small children, as they are already stretched and pulled to such a length that the child cannot do much harm one way or the other.”
Robert Benchley 1889-1945
These Dachshunds are stretched to over seven feet tall. They used to hang out in front of Doggie Diner restaurants but are now gathered on a trailer on Treasure Island happily waiting for an invitation to a parade.

A sweet "little" trio! But the word Dachshund gave me some thoughts I've never had before. In Swedish we say and spell it "hund" and we learn in school that the English word is dog and then I suddenly remember the old song that Elvis Presley sang: Hound Dog... So, whats a dog and whats a hound?
ReplyDeleteElla- Yes, a hound is a dog but more specifically a hunting breed of dog. So a hound dog is a hunting dog.
