“It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors”
Oscar Wilde 1854-1900
I came across the artist Anthony Holdsworth painting this San Francisco scene. The red brick building is St. Patrick’s Church dedicated in 1872 and the modern building behind it is the Marriott “Jukebox” hotel. Mission Street is usually busy with traffic but he synchronized his vision with the traffic lights to make the street seem nearly deserted.
