November 11 is Veterans Day in the US, a day to honor military veterans. This is a photograph of a section of the Crosses of Lafayette, a controversial war memorial that began as a protest of the Iraq war but is also meant to honor those who have died.

Nov. 11th is Remembrance Day in Canada. People wear red felt poppies in their lapels. In Poland, Nov. 11th is the Polish Independence day as Poland regained its freedom at the end of WW1. My post today is about those two holidays.
