Marilyn Monroe 1926-1962
I found these two posters taped to a mom and pop grocery store window in San Francisco. Today, June 1, is Marilyn Monroe’s birthday. She would have been eighty-five years old.
This weeks theme for Corner View is "M is for…". For more about M, see the blogs below. Thanks to Francesca for hosting, Valerie for choosing the theme and Jane for getting this whole thing started.

ReplyDeleteI love M, Marilyn Monroe and Michael Jackson.
A close friend and neighbor back in Cincinnati has a huge collection of Marilyn Monroe memorbilia. He has this awesome cookie jar!
ReplyDeleteI imagine she would have redefined 85 for the world. :)
yeah... i'm now wondering what marilyn could have looked like, if she'd still been around.. somehow this comes very unexpected, the mere thought.

ReplyDeleteThe ironic is that if she hadn't died so young, maybe we haven't had her as the icon she is now.

ReplyDeleteOh, it was her birthday? Really? She was one of my teenage idols. Well, if she was still alive, I would have serenaded her (but not in a translucent silvery dress):
ReplyDelete"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday, MMMMrs MMMMMarilyn....."
