M is for Marilyn

“I don't mind living in a man's world as long as I can be a woman in it.”
Marilyn Monroe 1926-1962

I found these two posters taped to a mom and pop grocery store window in San Francisco. Today, June 1, is Marilyn Monroe’s birthday. She would have been eighty-five years old.

This weeks theme for Corner View is "M is for…". For more about M, see the blogs below. Thanks to Francesca for hosting, Valerie for choosing the theme and Jane for getting this whole thing started.

  1. today? I'll have to tell my sister that! it's her birthday too.

I'm sure she would have been just as pretty at 58

  14. The ironic is that if she hadn't died so young, maybe we haven't had her as the icon she is now.

  19. Oh, it was her birthday? Really? She was one of my teenage idols. Well, if she was still alive, I would have serenaded her (but not in a translucent silvery dress):
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday, MMMMrs MMMMMarilyn....."
